I wish to express my gratitude for the healing power of Christian Science. From early childhood I had trouble with my left ear. About twenty-eight years ago I underwent an operation by a well known specialist in Switzerland, and was told that the chances of curing the disease were very small. The ear became more and more painful, and after many years of almost continuous suffering a prominent specialist in London told me I would never get relief without another operation. When asked whether I would be able to hear again, he said that I ought to be very glad if they could even stop the disease, as it had eaten so much into the bones. He added that there are people who can hear without these bones, but the medical profession cannot explain it.

The second operation was performed, but without doing much good, and I was actually under hospital treatment when Christian Science was brought to me. From this time I ceased going to the hospital, as the ear seemed to get better. Fear, however, crept in as to what could be done if the healing did not prove permanent. The condition them seemed worse than before, and I was full of fear; but the next morning I was much calmer and began to work as we are taught to do in Christian Science. I soon realized that Life is constructive, creative, and after working on these lines for a few days, something else took up my attention and the ear was forgotten. A fortnight later when I wanted to clean it, according to prescription, there was no discharge. The ear was quite healed, and it has kept well to this day.
