I am glad to express my gratitude for the healing that has come to me through Christian Science. Ten years ago my family, friends, and several doctors said there was no possible chance of my recovery, as I had tuberculosis. For four years I had tried every material remedy heard of, but to no avail.

When Christian Science was brought to my attention by a friend, I told her that I could not get well, and felt it was God's will for me to go; but my friend said that God did not send death, and that I could get well. I therefore asked her to have a practitioner come to see me, and she did so. I had not spoken above a whisper for five weeks, and could not eat solid food; my throat was in a serious condition, much of the tissue being destroyed, and the disease had come through on my nose. Besides all this, my cough was dreadful. I improved from the first treatment, being able to talk the next day, and was soon strong enough to help look after my household duties. In five months I began to do all my work, and am still doing it, with less fatigue than ever before. From childhood I had suffered from headaches and backaches, but since coming into Science have been free from these ailments.

When the practitioner told me Christian Science was the religion taught by Jesus while on earth, I was ready to accept it, for I could not understand why the sick should not be healed today the same as when he was here. Although I had been a church member for twenty-five years, it was no trouble for me to give up my church, for I knew Christian Science was the truth. Neither my children nor I have had a dose of medicine since coming into Science, but we have had many beautiful demonstrations of the power of Truth.
