In the spring of 1911 a physical healing through divine power alone was experienced in our home. Our daughter, then not quite eleven years old, was suddenly stricken with what is known as infantile paralysis. So severe was the attack that she could hardly move any portion of her body without assistance. A Christian Science practitioner was called at once, and as a result of her untiring efforts the child was able, at the end of ten days, to dress herself, and without help walked downstairs to have dinner with the family. After that her recovery was rapid, and in two weeks more she was again in school. None of the afflictions which under medical treatment are expected to follow this disease, were ever manifested.

To us this was a convincing proof of the healing power of Christian Science, for the permanency of the healing is assured. My daughter is not only carrying her high school work with a report card bearing the highest mark in almost every course, but is also putting in from three to four hours a day on piano and voice practice. Many other beautiful proofs of God's power have been given us. Spinal meningitis, ptomaine poisoning, bowel trouble of years' standing, rheumatism, and countless minor ailments have all been reduced to their native nothingness.

I am thankful to God for giving us one so pure, so full of understanding, so near to God, as to be able to make plain to us the true relationship which we bear to our Father.
