It is with a sense of deep gratitude to God that I give this testimony in recognition of the blessed power of Truth and Love. It was in 1912 that I first heard of Christian Science, after having gone through years of severe physical suffering. Since the birth of our child an anemic condition prevailed, which affected my lungs and indeed the whole system. Upon medical advice I was taken to a sanitarium in 1909, where I stayed six months and seemed to recuperate; but unfortunately the trouble returned with greater force in 1912. I was again taken to a sanitarium, and also spent a few weeks in the South in order to get rid of hoarseness, but received no benefit.
Sorrow and mental anguish drove me almost to despair. Everthing seemed wrapped in darkness and gloom, when through the light of Christian Science my path began to be illumined. Like one drowning I seized the help extended, and the stream of life which I thereby found restored me to health and happiness. I saw as never before that God, our Father, is Love, and many have been the blessings which I and my seven year old child have received. I never doubted the power of Truth and Love, which was explained to me untiringly by my practitioner until all error disappeared.
I am entirely well today, and happy with my dear ones. I know that God is an ever present help, our strength and comfort. Our thankfulness to God is immeasurably great, and we are very grateful to Mrs. Eddy, whose discovery is blessing mankind so abundantly.
