It is about eight years since I began the study of Christian Science, and I have had great cause to be thankful for this wonderful truth. I did not come to it for physical healing, but the teaching appealed to me from the first. Gradually I began to prove the Principle of Christian Science in overcoming temper and other mental imperfections. The realization that each and every one of us is able to demonstrate the unreality of discord, physical as well as mental, came to me more slowly, but I have commenced to make demonstrations along this line, and know that nothing is impossible to God; that the desired result will be obtained when we efface ourselves and understand that it is His power, not ours, which does the work.
Not long ago an attack of headache came on during office hours. At first I felt that if I only had a little time the demonstration might be made. Then the thought came that time was not needed; that I did not do the work myself, and that all that was required of me was just to hold steadfastly to the consciousness of good instead of error, and to have faith in divine Love. With this thought I turned to my desk and attended to my duties, with the result that soon the difficulty had been overcome.
I am indeed most grateful for Christian Science, for our church services, our literature, and that Mrs. Eddy again brought practical Christianity to light in an age when I might know and demonstrate it for myself and others.
