Deep gratitude impels me to tell of one of my latest experiences in Christian Science. One morning I awoke with severe spasms of the chest. I tried to overcome the ailment, but it rapidly became aggravated, and I soon had to ask for help. Then fever and pain set in, as well as all the symptoms of inflammation of the lungs; still I attended to my occupation, although this seemed to cause me great distress. A friend was treating me, but instead of improving, my condition seemed to grow more serious, so that hope of getting quick relief was almost abandoned. On the second day, however, having once more asked for treatment, after supper I went to sleep, and upon awaking two hours later found myself free from pain, fever, and oppression. Whatever was left of the cough disappeared within a few days. My joy over this sudden healing was so great that I could hardly find words to express it.
This wonderful experience has brought me one step nearer to God in that it has proven to me anew His presence and power. I have often experienced help from divine power through Christian Science, for which I am most deeply grateful. I am equally thankful for the recognition of the truth as applied in human affairs, which Christian Science brings to its students and which enables them to follow in an increasing measure the glorious command, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
Erika Hagen, Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands.
