For the encouragement of those without intimate knowledge of the healing work of Christian Science, I contribute the following testimony with a deep sense of gratitude. About two years ago I was afflicted with what was termed by three specialists an aggravated case of blood poisoning, and was informed by them that a certain prescribed treatment might effect a cure within three or four years.

Every known symptom attaching to blood trouble was evidenced in surface indications, which were well defined and prevalent from the scalp of my head to the soles of my feet, and in other definite characteristics. Believing the time opportune for putting into practice the teachings of Christian Science and for demonstrating its truth in my own behalf, I at once asked for treatment from a practitioner, with the result that complete relief came within six months. No return of the disease has been experienced in the interval, and I have but recently passed successfully a most exacting physical examination for added insurance, requiring what is considered in the nature of a positive analysis and known as a Wasserman blood test.

While being treated for blood poisoning I suffered for several weeks from rheumatism, and during the greater part of this time was without the use of my limbs and practically helpless. One morning, after a night of extreme suffering, my wife read to me from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, as was her custom, and during the reading of the chapter on Prayer I realized that all pain had left me and I was free. No return of the trouble has been experienced.
