Since coming to Christian Science for healing I have had so many proofs that this is a science which can be proved as accurately as any mathematical problem, that I gladly give my testimony. I had been closely associated with the medical profession for several years as a graduate and postgraduate nurse, and had learned the fallacy of trusting in medicine, as what would help me would hurt another who had the same disease. I had looked into every known ism and ology without finding anything to satisfy my longing to know God, though I had been a member of an orthodox church for years. When my extremity came, and I was discouraged, disheartened, sick unto death, and was then told that God is Love, and that He does not send sin, sickness, and death to His children, I immediately felt that I had found Him. I began to study Science and Health in connection with the Bible every spare moment, and read nothing else for a year. As a result, I can truthfully say that I am more content, more happy, and more healthy than ever before.

Out of the many wonderful experiences of the proof of God's love and care I will relate one case of healing. When I was getting on a cable car in Chicago, the car started suddenly and I was twisted around in such a way that my spine made a noise like a pistol. I could not sit or stand, and was in such pain that I got off the car, and walked six blocks home, declaring God's allness and man's dominion with every step I took. For three days and nights I could not lie down at all, and I could not sit except for a few moments at a time. I was never out of pain, but I did all my housework, though I could not bend at all. At the end of the three days I was perfectly healed. I knew the belief of the medical profession about similar cases, but every man-made law was broken, proving the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 380): "Every law of matter or the body, supposed to govern man, is rendered null and void by the law of Life, God." Christian Science has been our only remedy for ten years. It has met every need, and is truly a very present help always.
