Among the Churches

Current Notes

Kinston, N. C.—From July 1, 1916, to July 1, 1917, the following literature was distributed for First Church of Christ, Scientist: 625 Sentinels, 90 Journals, 1 Herold, 3360 Monitors, and 50 lectures. Literature boxes have been placed in N. S. & A. C. L. passenger stations. The County Jail and County Home have been supplied with literature, and the occupants seem glad to receive it. Four subscriptions to the Monitor are being sent to The Kinston Daily News, the Kinston High School, the Caswell Training School, and the City Library. We have heard of much good being accomplished from the literature that has been sent out, and we are still receiving the names of those who are asking for literature to be sent them.

Birmingham, Ala.—The edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, was dedicated Sunday morning, October 14. The edifice and the lot on which it stands, at the corner of Eleventh Avenue and Twenty-first Street, are estimated conservatively to have a value of more than twenty-five thousand dollars.—Birmingham Ledger.

Lincoln, Neb.—The distribution committee maintained a booth at the State Fair grounds September 3 to 7, and it was well patronized. There were given away 409 Sentinels, 186 Journals, 13 Herolds, 615 Monitors, 28 Quarterlies, and 154 pamphlets.
