Having been interested in Christian Science for about...
Having been interested in Christian Science for about seven years, I feel I have much for which to be grateful, as it has met my every need. One thing in particular I would especially like to mention,—a demonstration over what is known as bloody flux, a disease which sometimes proves fatal. I felt badly one whole day, and tried to work for myself with what understanding I had of Science; but as I kept getting worse I called for help. The first day there was not much relief, for I had let in fear, just as I had two years before when suffering with the same disorder; but when the fear was conquered, the trouble was all overcome.
Another beautiful demonstration was over the effects of contact with poison ivy. I was in such a condition that I could not wear any tight clothing or even get my shoes on, but was healed in less than a week through the faithful work of a practitioner. My eyesight has also greatly improved. A specialist had told me that the optic nerve was practically gone, and that glasses really did no good except to lessen the strain. Now I can see to do finer and closer work without my sewing glasses than I could do before with them, and all my reading is done without their assistance, some of it by very poor gaslight. I feel very grateful to Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, and am thankful for our literature, as it is a great help to all mankind.
