Among the Churches

Current Notes

Alton, Ill. —The congregation of First Christ, Scientist, will this evening [Oct. 3] occupy the new quarters they have fitted up on Tenth Street, between Henry and Langdon Streets. The church bought the property, and the building has been transformed into one of the handsomest little edifices to be imagined. The main floor has an assembly room, which is capable of seating about one hundred people, with space for overflow in a reading room which adjoins the main auditorium.—Alton Telegraph.

Lincoln, Neb.—At services held at eleven o'clock in the morning and repeated at eight o'clock in the evening the Christian Scientists of Lincoln dedicated their church building at Twelfth and L Streets on Sunday [Oct. 7]. The building was finished in 1912, but the dedication was postponed until after the mortgage was paid, September 24.
