Christian Science is the greatest blessing that has ever come into my life. We have had many proofs that God is an ever present help in time of trouble.

About two years ago our little boy, five years old, while blowing on a toy tin horn, fell violently on his face against a flight of stairs. The sharp mouthpiece of the horn was forced into his mouth, cutting a deep gash and tearing the palate partly away, so that it lay on his tongue. We immediately asked a Christian Science practitioner for help, with the result that there was no swelling or inflammation whatever. That evening the child rested well, and in the morning he was able to take a little nourishment. In the evening he sat at the dinner table and ate some soft food, and after the third day he was able to eat anything he wished.

At the end of two weeks the palate had gone back into place, and by the end of the next week new growth had filled in the wound, only a slight scar remaining. It had been said that the boy would not be able to talk plainly; but he is now in perfect health, and hummed the songs from our Hymnal even during treatment. This seemed a most wonderful healing to me, for I was filled with fear lest the parts hanging down could not grow back without being held in place, which was impossible with any material aid; but the practitioner encouraged me from time to time, in the words of our Master, not to be afraid, for God is omnipotent.
