For what Christian Science has done for me and mine I...
For what Christian Science has done for me and mine I am more grateful than can be expressed in words, as it has been our only help for almost eleven years. I was healed of a disease said by the doctors to be incurable. It was claimed that even an operation could not heal me, although my family physician urged me to submit to one in the hope that it might give some relief. He said that without the operation I might live about eight months, but would be nothing but skin and bone, as I had been kept under an opiate for four months and was suffering constant pain.
That surely seemed the darkest hour before the dawn. I prayed to God that He would either take me out of all this suffering or send something to help me, as I had seven children to look after. My prayer was heard, for that afternoon a lady in our neighborhood asked if I would try Christian Science, and a practitioner was called. The healing was rather slow, but it has been permanent. Many other ailments have been overcome in my family, such as headache, toothache, lame back, sprained ankles, sore throat, liver trouble. I have learned that there is nothing impossible with God, and am grateful that evil is overcome with good more and more every day.— Dora Schuett, Saginaw, Mich.
