With humility and love I write this testimony to tell...
With humility and love I write this testimony to tell others a few of the many blessings I have received since coming into Christian Science. In November, 1908, I was suffering from many physical ills. A dear friend asked me to try Christian Science, and I gladly consented. I did not expect to get well, but wanted to find God. I bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and started to study very earnestly. In two weeks some of the worst ailments had disappeared, but the complete healing was slow. For this I am now grateful, as I knew the healing would come when I gained sufficient understanding of the truth. For more than three years I could not demonstrate much of this beautiful truth, and when anything was the matter with the children or myself I would call a Christian Science practitioner. I was invited to attend church, but it had no attraction for me at that time.
In 1912 I decided to send the children to the Christian Science Sunday school, and I also stated to attend the Sunday services and the Wednesday evening meetings. Later I began to study the Lesson-Sermons, and I have been richly rewarded with spiritual blessings, for great changes have taken place in my consciousness, and I can now demonstrate what I understand and apply it to my daily needs. I have been-healed of difficulty in breathing, of heart trouble, chronic cough, asthma, stomach and bowel trouble, also extreme nervousness. It is nearly seven years since the children or myself used material remedies, for we have found a God that is ever present in time of need. I now have the peace of mind that "passeth all understanding," for Christ is indeed "the way, the truth, and the life."
My daily effort shall be to live this truth, so as to be worthy to be called a Christian Scientist. I have the privilege of membership in a Church of Christ, Scientist, in this city. I am grateful for the Sentinel, Journal, and Monitor, also for the Quarterly with the Lesson-Sermons, and my heart is filled with gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
