In February, 1914, I became ill and bloating began
In February, 1914, I became ill and bloating began. By the middle of March I could hardly lie down, and in addition I had high fever. I was taken to a hospital and treated eight weeks for typhoid fever, but instead of gaining became weaker all the time. Another physician was called in, and as he said there was an abnormal growth, I was taken to another hospital and operated on, but instead of there being a growth, the stomach, bowels, and bladder were all pronounced tuberculous. My loved ones were told that nothing more could be done and I could live only a few days.
I was then taken to my mother's home, where I was expected to pass away, but a Christian Science friend had been there and asked that Christian Science be given a trial. This was Sunday evening. On Monday morning a practitioner was called in, and he repeated the call Tuesday. At noon on Wednesday I dressed and went to the table, and ate just what I wanted. The practitioner continued absent treatments the rest of that week, and on Saturday I told my mother to dismiss him. My health is perfect, and words fail to express my thankfulness to God that I have been spared to my family. We have had several demonstrations and enjoy all the Christian Science literature. I hope my testimony may help some one.—Epsy McSpadden, Strong City, Kan.
