I feel that I should not delay any longer to testify publicly...
I feel that I should not delay any longer to testify publicly to all the good that has come to me since I have been endeavoring to walk in the way of Truth. I had been suffering for several years with neurasthenia, gloomy thoughts bordering on mental derangement, lack of energy, distrust of my ability to do things, and this condition became aggravated as a result of overwork; so I took a two months' leave from my work and put myself under Christian Science treatment.
This Science, which I had never heard mentioned up to that day, was presented to me by a relative. At first it seemed especially difficult to understand, and at times I almost despaired of ever doing so. Everything was, however, explained to me with such unremitting patience and with so much kindness that my doubts and objections were gradually dispelled, and I was led eventually to apprehend a new sense of life. At the end of my leave of absence I was enabled to resume the direction of a class of boys and girls in the country. During the last quarter of the school year I worked strenuously, but seemed to require the constant help of Christian Science.
I now feel that I am gaining more and more in the right understanding of God as taught by Mrs. Eddy in her admirable book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." It rests entirely with us to be happy, since God is Love and never created evil. I read Science and Health daily and as much as I can, and both my joy and my facility in reading are increasing. I never fail to attend the Sunday services and Wednesday evening meetings, from which I derive much good. I would express deep felt thanks to God for all He has bestowed on me and mine.
