I have long delayed sending my testimony of the happiness that Christian Science has brought to my wife and myself. I was very bitter against this teaching, but one day my wife asked me to let her read to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I asked where she got the book, and when she answered that it was borrowed from a friend, I said: "Well, they seem to be very much interested in you. Can it benefit them to look after you? Don't waste your time, then, in rehearsing their words; if you want a copy of Science and Health get one of your own." I little knew what I had done in thus giving my consent that Science and Health be brought into my house. I had opened the door for God and His blessing to enter.

I can hardly say how it happened, but a few evenings later I found myself reading the book instead of my daily paper, and although it seemed a blank, yet something urged me to go on. The more I read the more light I got, and I began to understand that God is Love, and that He is All-in-all. At this time I was taking medicine daily, as I had been for twelve years, on account of stomach trouble, from which I had been a constant sufferer, and I now grew willing to try anything to better my condition. Since I began to read Science and Health I have not taken a drop of medicine, neither has the stomach trouble returned.

I surely have reason to rejoice daily that I thus turned to Truth. Not only has this ailment disappeared, but a number of others have been overcome by my wife and myself. As yet, however, we are only infants in Christian Science, but I am thankful to God, also grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the much needed truth we have already gained.
