At the time of my healing through Christian Science I was suffering from a combination of diseases, namely, a throat difficulty, congestion of the bowels, and organic heart trouble, the last being pronounced incurable by several physicians who had been called for a final consultation. I was in a semicomatose condition on account of the opiates taken to ease the intense pain from the bowel congestion. It was then, when the family physician had called for the last time, leaving no hope, that a friend advised my mother to try Christian Science for me. In accordance with the old adage that "where there is life there is hope," a friend who was also a Christian Science practitioner was called, and in less than twenty-four hours I was sitting up in bed eating, a thing I had not done in four days. Since that time, three years ago, I have not been ill a day.—Horace W. Baker, Brooklyn, N. Y.
