It is with pleasure that I give this testimony of my healing...
It is with pleasure that I give this testimony of my healing in Christian Science about three years ago. I had been suffering from uterine trouble for several months, and had been told by two physicians that it would be necessary to go to the hospital for an operation, as they feared poisoning would set in. Although somewhat interested in Christian Science I did not think of applying it to myself, until one night the thought came to me that now was the time to prove my faith in it. Next day I was hardly able to sit up, but I resolved to try Christian Science before undergoing an operation. A practitioner was called, and after a talk with her I felt encouraged. I went to sleep, and in ten or fifteen minutes waked up feeling like a new being. The pain in the head was gone, and I said to my children, "I am healed."
This was the beginning of what proved to be a remarkable demonstration. Conditions were improving, so that I did work I had been unable to do for months, and in about three weeks the final test came. I had not consulted the practitioner since the first week, but had read and studied Science and Health and felt very strong. Then I was taken suddenly one morning with hemorrhages, which necessitated my going to bed. I refused to have a doctor, but asked the practitioner for help, and relief was soon experienced. I seemed to be entering "the valley of the shadow of death," but had no fear, and reassured my family by telling them that all was well. At about four o'clock that afternoon an abnormal growth was expelled, and every discordant condition was overcome as it appeared. I was about my work within a week, a well woman.
Headaches, from which I had suffered all my life, have been entirely removed, while my husband and the other members of the family have also been successfully treated by a practitioner for various ailments that would formerly have meant the calling of a doctor; so that we feel very grateful to have found that the healing which Christ Jesus taught and practised is available today, even as when he was here on earth.—Addie M. Selover, Santa Barbara, Cal.
