An interesting letter from a correspondent contains the following statement: "The fundamental fact on which the whole structure of Christian Science is based is the denial of matter, the negation of the material." Now I think it will be conceded that a negation can never be the basis and fundamental fact of anything. One would not say that the fundamental fact on which the principle of the conservation of numbers is based is the denial that two and two make five. Christian Science is based on the fact that God, Spirit, is infinite, All. From this arises the necessary corollary that matter, the opposite of Spirit, must be a suppositional negation of Spirit, and hence unreal, in the absolute sense.
