I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for the many and great blessings I have received since coming into Christian Science. Previous to my acceptance of this wonderful healing truth I had been a member of another church nearly all my life, its teachings and doctrine being so firmly embedded in me that it was very hard to conceive of any religion other than my own as being correct. But through the unceasing and patient work of dear friends I finally became interested in Christian Science, and to my great joy I discovered that it was indeed the healing truth taught by the great Wayshower. It is only a year and a half since I came into Christian Science, but in that time I have been healed of many ailments.
Ever since childhood I had been subject to a nervous trouble which was at times accompanied with intense suffering, but this was entirely healed in a comparatively short time. Glasses which I had been compelled to wear for nearly twenty-two years were laid aside through the study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the faithful and loving work of a Christian Science practitioner. Doctors had pronounced the eye condition incurable and said I would have to wear glasses all my life; but I have been without them now for a year and a half and have never felt the need of them in that time. My eyes are constantly improving, and I am sure that the final demonstration will be complete. I have also been healed of the tobacco habit, by which I was enslaved nearly fifteen years. Recently a financial difficulty which had been most trying and discouraging was overcome through Christian Science treatment, and many minor ills have been healed through the little understanding I have gained.
I am indeed thankful to God for all, and my heart goes out full of gratitude to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, through whom this saving truth has been revealed to mankind. I am also grateful for all the Christian Science literature, which is doing so much good. My great desire is so to live in word and deed that I may be found worthy to be called a Christian Scientist and that I may lead others to the truth.
