It is with a grateful heart that I relate the following...

It is with a grateful heart that I relate the following healing, which took place in August, 1913. My youngest son, a lad of eighteen years, went out cycling on a Saturday afternoon. He had been gone a couple of hours when a policeman called at my home to tell me that the boy had been run into by a tram-car and was then in the hospital, and that I should try to get to him as soon as possible. I had to go seven miles by train to get to the hospital he was in, but before I left home another son telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, asking her to take the case.

When I arrived at the hospital my son was unconscious, and the doctors told me to remain all night, as he was in a very serious condition and there was a possibility that he might pass away at any time. They told me his injuries were a fractured skull, both jaws broken, a broken nose, and his top lip cut completely through. I sat by the bedside declaring all the time the truth of being, and that God would heal him. The nurse was taking the pulse and temperature every half-hour, and every time there was an improvement. When morning came the doctors told me they thought he would live. On the following Wednesday he sat up in bed and ate ordinary food; on Friday he was walking about the ward, taking food to the other patients who were not out of bed; and the following Wednesday, less than a fortnight after the accident, he was at home. The accident necessitated a full set of teeth from the dentist, but today no one, seeing my son, would know that his face had been so injured.

For this beautiful demonstration we are most thankful to Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us the way.
