I was brought into Christian Science through a son ten years old. Some other boy had interested him in this teaching by telling him he could be healed and need not be lame. For nine years he had suffered from a tubercular knee, for which he had been treated by the best doctors and had had all other kinds of material treatment. He had undergone three operations and was about to have another, when he asked if we would not try Christian Science. I had almost lost faith in God and knew nothing about Christian Science, but decided to try it for the boy's sake.
When treatment was begun, my son's condition was such that he did not play, eat, or take any interest in things about him, and his leg was drawn up so he walked on his toe. There were five openings which were discharging, so that I had to bandage the leg three times a day. After the first few treatments the boy began to eat and take an interest in things again, and in a short time the foot was down with the other one. He improved right along, but his healing was slow. I am now sure it was because of my unbelief, and as soon as that was overcome he was completely healed. He attends the Christian Science Sunday school and is learning to help himself in many ways. He is perfectly well and healthy, also rides a bicycle. It seemed to me I was in another world when I saw he was being healed and could walk and run around like other boys, which was something he had never before been able to do.
Words cannot express my gratitude for all Christian Science has done for us. I used to have throat trouble every winter, but since I have read Christian Science literature and attended the services I have never had an attack of it. We are indeed grateful to God for Christian Science.
