From childhood I had suffered from extreme weakness, said to be caused by an abnormal condition of the heart. The culmination was reached in July, 1909, when after a most aggravated attack brought on by calling aloud for assistance, I suddenly collapsed. I do not hesitate to say that I was on the verge of passing away. I beckoned to my sister and whispered to her to call a Christian Science practitioner. Through the help of God, who is our Life, and the excellent work of the practitioner, I was able to get up and walk around the room within twenty minutes. Treatment was continued for several weeks, and now I am able to proclaim with heartfelt gratitude that I am a strong, active girl.

Christian Science is helping me to become more patient, tolerant, less critical and severe, and more gentle and loving. There have been many demonstrations in my home of the power and presence of God, and among the things Science has overcome are typhoid fever, Bright's disease, stomach disorder, toothache, and a structural defect of the eyes. The eye trouble was healed after glasses had been worn for two years. Also an ugly wart was removed from my finger through the understanding of the truth. For these evidence of God's protecting power and love I wish to acknowledge my deep thankfulness. Our loyalty to Christian Science and appreciation of the work of that noble, pure woman, Mrs. Eddy, are best expressed in deeds.
