The Lectures

A lecture on Christian Science by Clarence W. Chadwick was delivered in the Abbey Theater to a large and appreciative audience, representative of the leading professional and other classes in Dublin, as well as visitors from the country. The lecturer was introduced by Maurice Saunderson, first reader, who said:—

Christian Science is being asked today to give an answer to certain vital questions. These questions are: Can I be healed from the sickness from which I am suffering? Can I be relieved from the bondage of sinful habits and desires? Can I obtain surcease from sorrow and affliction? There are numbered by the thousands, all over the world, those who have found such questions wholly answered through the demonstration of the teachings of Christian Science.

The spirit of inquiry as to what Christian Science teaches is universal, consequently many have come forward to give their ideas on this profound and all-absorbing subject, and the tendency has been too common to decry it. The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy, foresaw this, and forestalled it through the establishment of these lectures, so that any honest seeker after truth may hear the doctrine of Christian Science correctly stated, and find if there is not in its teachings a solution to the many perplexing problems which beset us all.—Irish Weekly Mail.
