This is to testify how deeply grateful I am to Christian Science...
This is to testify how deeply grateful I am to Christian Science for the help it has been and is to me. About two years ago I was healed of a disease which the physicians claim is incurable. I did not receive even temporary relief from medicine but grew steadily worse. Seven of the leading physicians in this city were consulted. One of them said he would try to help me, one would not take the case at all, and another said he could do nothing for me, but advised a change of climate. My husband said if that would do me any good he would be willing, but personally I had very little faith; in fact, I had lost all hope of ever being helped, and my family and friends thought if I held out three weeks longer I would do well.
At this point a neighbor spoke to me of Christian Science, so I asked her to let me see the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and she did so. After reading it, I asked to have a practitioner visit me. Treatment was then given, and in three weeks I was healed. I was also cured of stomach disorder, from which I had suffered for nearly two years, being unable to eat anything but raw eggs, and part of the time not even those. I suffered a great deal from nervousness, too, but this has been overcome. Since then I have had many satisfying proofs of the power of this blessed truth. When my first baby was born the birth was entirely painless, and I suffered no inconvenience whatever. Three weeks afterward I was taken ill with milk blain in a severe form, but this was overcome quickly with no help except Christian Science treatment.
I cannot find words to express my thankfulness to God for His goodness, or my gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing us the way.—Clara M. Williams, Norfolk, Va.
