Among the Churches

Southern California. —During the past year the Christian Science committee on publication has endeavored to extend the distribution of our authorized literature into those places in southern California where Christian Science is unknown or where interest has not yet reached the point of formal organization. With the kind cooperation of practitioners and friends we have been enabled to reach interested readers in 114 such places, and the list is still growing.
At the annual tournament of roses in Pasadena on New Year's day, 1915, the literature distribution committee of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pasadena, erected a large tent on the main street. Many grateful visitors took advantage of the hospitality provided, and much literature was taken away from the tables just inside the main entrance. Monitor booths and reading-rooms were also maintained at the pure food show held in Los Angeles in February, at the fifth national orange show in San Bernardino in February, at the Riverside Country fair in Riverside in October, and at the Orange Country fair in Santa Ana the same month. Gratifying reports have been received from each undertaking.
An inestimable amount of good has been accomplished through the generous distribution of authorized literature at the exhibits of The Christian Science Publishing Society provided for by the Christian Scientists of California at the expositions at San Francisco and San Diego. Handsome booths were erected in each instance, where our Leader's works and all of the products of The Christian Science Publishing Society were attractively displayed in show-cases especially built for the occasion. On the walls revolving racks were hung, wherein were photographs of Christian Science churches throughout the world, mounted views of all departments of the publishing house, and the latest issue of The Christian Science Monitor.
