For a long time it has seemed that I should express my gratitude for the help that has come through the study and application of the teaching of Christian Science. On Aug. 13, 1910, I gave up my position on account of nervous breakdown and a peculiar vertigo that made it impossible for me to continue work. I called on a doctor in Los Angeles, who said it would be better to give up the idea of doing office work for at least two years; that perhaps I would never be able to do it again, as it was too confining. I took the medicine he prescribed for me, also other remedies, but did not seem to improve. After remaining at home for over a month, I accepted a position in an office, but at the end of five weeks felt worse than before. Then, after staying home again for a period of nearly two months, without getting any better, I was very unhappy and discouraged.

Finally I recalled what a friend had told me about Christian Science soon after coming to Los Angeles, so I went to her and asked if she really thought I could be helped, and she said she knew I could be. The next day, Nov. 17, 1910, I had my first Christian Science treatment, and three weeks later went to work in an office and have worked there ever since. I can honestly say that never have I enjoyed such good health in all my life as since taking up the study of Christian Science. I have also gained in weight and strength, and my work does not tire me as it used to do.

I am thankful to God and likewise grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the many blessings I have received since coming into Christian Science.—Selina L. Kienast, Bairdstown, Cal.
