One afternoon in January, 1914, while in Los Angeles,...

One afternoon in January, 1914, while in Los Angeles, Cal., a gasoline stove exploded as I was lighting it, and I was terribly burned about the face, neck, and arms. As I was a stranger in the neighborhood and unable to help myself, neighbors called an ambulance and I was hurried to the hospital. Before being taken away I requested one of the neighbors to get a Christian Science practitioner for me, and she did so through a friend. The practitioner took up the work at once, and my suffering stopped very quickly. Although the nurse feared I would never again be able to see, my eyes were perfect in a few days, and in a little over two weeks I was able to leave the hospital and attend church. There was not a scar or a blemish left, and I experienced no bad effects whatever. I feel very thankful to God, and am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, for this healing and for the enlightenment which I have received through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," together with the Bible, which I could never understand until I found the light through Christian Science.—Frances E. Fager, East Orange, N. J.
