The benefits which have come to me through the study of the Bible in the light of Christian Science have been manifold. I have been healed of a long-standing bowel trouble, stomach disorder, nervousness, and a number of other things, including the tobacco habit, to which I had been in bondage for twenty years. I had tried every known remedy for the bowel difficulty before I came to Christian Science, but had never received more than temporary relief. Today I am glad to be able to say that I am healed, and my general health is good. It is not, however, so much of the physical benefit that I would like to speak, although it enabled me to go about my daily work again in peace, but rather of the spiritual uplift and the new concept of life I have found. I am convinced that every man will find physical healing and spiritual life when he looks on religion not so much as something to be believed, but rather as something to be understood and practised in every-day life.

I always desired to live a clean life, and religion more or less appealed to me, but I never understood the sayings of Christ Jesus until I was healed through the understanding of Truth, which brought peace to the troubled thought and again established health and harmony. To say that I am grateful does not seem sufficient in my case, and only those who have been healed through Christian Science can tell what it means.—C. P. Thomas, Providence, R. I.
