In January, 1911, I first read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, at the urgent request of a dear one in California who wrote and over and over again of God who is Love, of the peace "which passeth all understanding," and told me of the "Key" which unlocks the treasures of the Bible so they can be understood clearly. Sorrow, suffering, and despair had weighed me down till I did not want to live. A specialist in Boston said there was no help for me, that I would soon be entirely deaf. Then a certainty that I was fast growing blind came upon me, and terrible headaches added to the blackness; but the worst was the passing on of my little boy. Life was unbearable and I felt I should soon be crazy; but divine Love sent help. I read Science and Health and the headaches ceased forever. The darkness lifted, and all was light ; other ills disappeared, the great sorrow was lifted, and Love healed the wounds. Then my hearing was restored. I attended a Christian Science lecture in 1913 and heard every word. I rejoice that I can see and hear; but to me the best of all is the great love and peace which has come, the knowing that God is Love and that He is our Father-Mother.

It was proven for five of us that as God does not send anything but good, we need not have any disease. My son came home with the mumps on both sides of his face, but the swelling went down, and much to every one's surprise none of us caught this ailment.

I am thankful for the faithful work of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and also grateful for the help found in our literature; there is so much in every publication to help and inspire. With divine help I am trying to live as God would have me.—Marion K. Bond, Union Village, Vt.
