It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give my testimony to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. For eight years I was a hopeless invalid, suffering from a serious condition of the bowels. As I was heavy and fleshy, the doctor told me I could not be cured. I had to sit down to do everything, and would hitch about the house in a chair to do the housework. I struggled on till I was a complete wreck, both mentally and physically, and my husband could hardly live with me, my mind was in such a state. I had come in contact with Christian Science several times, but did not think it could do anything for me, since I had tried doctors and medicines and every remedy my friends would suggest, all without avail. Then a friend who was a Christian Scientist came to live with us, and this gave me a chance to read some of her books and to inquire about Christian Science.

My husband, who is a Mason, had been sent to Topeka as a delegate to the grand lodge. There he met a man whose wife had been to Kansas City to a specialist and was cured. When he came home he wanted me to go to this specialist and try once more to see if I could be healed. I had little faith, but promised to go, thinking all the time that if this attempt did not succeed I would never try material means any more, but would go to God, for I knew He alone could make me well. I went to Kansas City and was examined by four doctors, none of whom could do anything for me. They offered to operate, but I refused. Everybody was kind, and everything was done that could be done for me, but I was not cured. As soon as I could get away from the doctors a friend telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner. In fifteen minutes he came and told me I could be well. A great weight fell from me which I had carried all the eight years, and a thought of joy came into my consciousness. I received one absent and one present treatment, and was healed. The spiritual uplift was wonderful.

That was ten years ago, and I have not taken any medicine since; God has been our only physician. I have had many beautiful demonstrations of the power of God, and am very grateful for the understanding gained by reading Science and Health and other works by Mrs. Eddy. My husband has taken up the study of Christian Science and has been healed of asthma of many years' standing. Divine Love guides us in every walk in life and supplies all our needs.
