It is with a grateful heart that I wish to testify to my having found help through Christian Science in my extremity. I was suffering from hardening of the arteries in a very severe form, designated as such by the physicians under whose care I had put myself. All the methods of cure to which they resorted proved ineffective, and as my condition grew more serious every day, still another physician was called in. He too, however, gave no hope of recovery. I was completely exhausted, lost consciousness, and lay in the last stages of the disease, when word came through my sister of the wonderful healing work done in Christian Science.
It was impossible for me at the time to decide on anything, but as it was my daughter's desire, a Christian Science practitioner was entrusted with the case. The result was that within a few days my condition improved so much that I was able to get up. Then I had the first visit from the practitioner, and my improvement went on steadily. When in the course of six weeks I was completely restored and called on the physician who had treated me formerly, he showed great surprise and could hardly recognize me. According to his opinion I ought to have taken the medicine which he had prescribed for at least six months. During the period of treatment in Christian Science I took no medicine, and there were no physicians in attendance, for they had been dismissed. I set my trust solely on God's help and on the truth taught in Christian Science.
I can but testify, therefore, that with God's help and through the new-old Christ-teaching I have been completely restored to health, and for this I thank God from the depths of my heart, and gratefully remember Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
