I feel it a duty as well as a privilege at least to try to tell...
I feel it a duty as well as a privilege at least to try to tell some of the good that has come to me through the study and practice of the teaching of Christian Science. I did not come to Christian Science for healing for myself, but I am sure there could be no one in more need of the truth than I was, although my family also needed it. It has proven to me that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." I began to read to one under treatment, and soon found that I did not worry as usual, but seemed more willing to trust God.
For two weeks or more after Christian Science came into my home I used medicine for the children, but when I had seen intense pain overcome in a few minutes, and was myself healed of a throat affection by the reading of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was willing the children should be treated. One child had several places of proud flesh on his back where there had been boils, two of the children had a bad form of skin trouble and were in such a condition that they were not allowed to go to school ; but they were all healed in less than one week by Christian Science. From that time until now, over eight years, we have used nothing but Christian Science in a family of six; it not only heals but prevents sickness.
We have had many convincing demonstrations. Before I took up Christian Science I was much opposed to what I thought it to be, but it has given me an understanding of God and my relation to Him, and has taught me that He indeed "is no respecter of persons." Truth has helped me to keep the family together, and has been our supply, because without it I never could have had the strength and courage to do the work I have done.
