For a number of years I attended one of the Christian churches, but when a flood of adversity came upon me I found my house had been built upon the sands; for with the rush of the waters of misfortune it fell, and so far as my own personal interests were concerned, "great was the fall of it." Amid the wreckage of my material hopes Christian Science found me, and through a study of its teachings I am gaining a correct understanding of the relationship between God and man. Pernicious habits that have seemingly been lifelong companions are dropping away one by one, and physical ailments which I am satisfied are largely a reflex of those habits, are also disappearing into their native nothingness, so that now, at this period of my journey from sense to Soul, I can look back and realize in a measure what a great change has come into my life. This change is perceptible not only in the home, but in the conduct of my business. In the latter province, where a chaotic condition prevailed owing to fear and wrong thinking, there now obtains a systematic regularity due to a confidence born of Truth.

The healing of the physical discord (Materia medica termed it Bright's disease) occurred some three years ago, and I have been in sound health ever since. Every day brings fresh proofs of God's love, and so I am thankful for Christian Science, — thankful to God, and grateful to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—Nelson Mott, Brooklyn, N. Y.
