With a heart filled to overflowing with thankfulness to God and gratitude to Mrs. Eddy I give my testimony, in the hope that divine Love will carry it to some one and thus help him out of bondage. My physical ailments disappeared shortly after I went to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, and along with them went the habits of smoking, liquor drinking, and profanity.

When the study of Christian Science was taken up, I was working under an assumed name. From boyhood until the time divine Love healed me, my life was steeped in sin. On account of this, and because of the rigid rules of a certain corporation governing its applications, I changed my name in the endeavor to secure a position, and it was while working under this alias that Christian Science came to me, but I scoffed at the thought of its healing me.

Just three weeks prior to my advent into this wonderful truth I had returned from Fort McDowell in San Francisco Bay, where I was examined by Government physicians for enlistment in the United States Army Signal Corps, but was rejected, as the doctors claimed I had heart trouble. Three years ago I was examined by three different physicians of Fostoria, Ohio, and by the state board of health at Columbus, Ohio, and they pronounced me a consumptive. A local doctor advised me to leave for a different climate, intimating that I would not last long if I remained in Ohio. I immediately went to Texas, but along with me I took sin, and the climate did me no good.

I was living under the above illusions when the help of a Christian Science practitioner was sought. Through his clear understanding of God and of man in God's image and likeness, I was healed, and God has taken care of me ever since. It has now been sixteen months since this wonderful experience. I have not taken any medicine or used any material remedies whatever in that time, and have gained in weight. Although no physician has examined me since my healing, I know it is complete, for today I am in perfect health. The physical healing was wonderful, and I thank God for His constant care, but that for which I am most grateful is the regeneration, contentment, peace, and harmony that is gradually dominating my life, where before all was sin, discontent, discouragement, and inharmony. The Bible has become a daily companion, and through the interpretation that "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" gives, I am able to understand Jesus' teachings.

Soon after this wonderful truth came to me, divine Love led me into a new position with a responsible firm. The work was new to me, but I have given entire satisfaction and my salary has been advanced twice in less than a year. I also work a few hours every evening in another position without any ill effects, whereas to mortal sense it would seem to be an overtax upon my strength. Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 494) that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," and this has surely been proven to me. My daily prayer is that my light may so shine, in reflecting Life, Truth, and Love, that it will draw others unto the peace which passeth all understanding.
