Quiet Work

One of the most beautiful features of the understanding of Christian Science is that it enables the student to do a great deal of good in a quiet way. In this respect, as in many others, it is the polar opposite of the world's method. Christian Science indicates that while it is abnormal to hide one's light under a bushel, the joy and success of good work are enhanced by quietness. The great Master's injunction was, "When thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: that thine alms may be in secret."
