It is with much joy and gratitude that I ponder the thought of what Christian Science has brought into my life. In every time of physical illness I have turned to Christian Science for help, and have never failed to receive it. Of far greater value to me, however, than any physical healing, has been the spiritual illumination which has come to my consciousness through the continual study of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

While seeking for employment in the summer of 1913, I experienced through my application of the teachings of Christian Science, a convincing proof of the nothingness of the material sense of limitation, and for this I desire to express my sincere appreciation, in the hope, too, that some other seeker for employment may be strengthened by knowing of my experience. At the beginning of the summer vacation from college I applied at various places for work in my own line during the next few months. Every employer told me that business was bad, that he could hardly afford to keep the men he had already, and that the hiring of new men was out of the question. In most places they said they could not afford to employ new men for so short a time. They also maintained that my university training would have very little value in a practical way, and that I would therefore have to start at the bottom, and receive a very low wage.

During the two or three weeks which I spent in this way, I was trying to know that there was a right place for me, but I was not freeing myself from the host of limitations that were constantly knocking for admittance at the door of my consciousness. One day, when I was trying earnestly to solve the problem, the thought came to me very clearly that these seeming limitations had no foundation in Principle, or in the spiritual facts of being, and that they were not in any way performing any function of Love. I knew then that they could not hinder me from obtaining the employment which would be the best for me to have. The result of the mental illumination thus gained was that the next company I applied to gave me a job, which proved to be better than any I had formulated for myself, and they paid me higher wages than I had asked for from any other concern. I feel very grateful to know that even though we seem to be held on every side by limitations, we can still turn our thought to God, the divine Principle of all, and He clears the way.
