All that I am and all that I have I owe to Christian Science

All that I am and all that I have I owe to Christian Science. Many years ago I was healed in a short time of a form of lung trouble which develops very rapidly, and I was in the last stage of this disease when I began to have Christian Science treatment. I have also been cured of the liquor and tobacco habits in their worst form. The understanding of God as taught in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, is showing me how tp "put off the old man" and "put on the new man," and in doing this I find my disposition is just the opposite from what it used to be. I have learned that evil is impersonal and unreal, and I am therefore able to love those whom I could not love before, and with a love that helps them.

Christian Science has never failed me when I have done my part, as our text-book teaches us to do. I have proved to my own satisfaction that God is all-power and all-presence, that He is able to and does supply our every need, and that there is no limitation in Truth. Our Leader says, "Remember, it is personality, and the sense of personality in God or in man, that limits man" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 282). I try to know each day that there is no material poverty or material wealth to separate me from true substance, which is spiritual and not material. Jesus once told his disciples to be "wise as serpents, and harmless as doves," and this is what Christian Science has taught me to be: to be wise, and first of all to see whether it is truth or error that is influencing me, but never to fear evil, rather to rejoice ever, because I have enough understanding of Christian Science to do the work that comes to me each day. It also teaches me to be harmless in my thoughts toward every one. Is it any wonder I am grateful? I find more to be grateful for each day, and thankful always to God and to His faithful and loving messenger, Mrs. Eddy.—Ralph Myers Wilson, Chicago, Ill.
