The Portland (Ore.) Advocate
Many of our people are embracing the religion of Christian Science, and this, to our way of thinking, is a sign of independence and progress. Christian Science teaches that to reach a haven of peace, contentment, and happiness, one does not have to die, since it can be reached by right thinking and right living. For evidence of this fact, one has only to consult the thousands of believers of that faith, some of whom have been snatched from a wretched state of physical and moral decay to the blessed sunlight of health and happiness.
