As a result of an operation, severe inflammation of the veins set in which confined me to my bed for twenty-two weeks. I tried everything which was suggested to me, but could see no improvement. Christian Science was then brought to my attention, and I immediately placed confidence in it. I read several copies of Der Herold der Christian Science, and in a very short while it became evident to me that I had found the true medicine. I sent for a practitioner, who took up treatment at once and explained the truth to me, and after a short time I was able to leave my bed. Several other ailments had still to be met, and after regaining the ability to walk I found that I could not ascend stairs or climb hills, until I realized that all our strength comes from God, infinite Mind. This error then disappeared, so that now I am able to go anywhere. I wish to say here that through realizing the omnipotence of divine Love I have had beautiful experiences both in my business and in my family. I have sufficiently recovered to be able to attend to my business every day, and my wife and I give thanks unto God daily for the truth as revealed to us through our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. We know that God is our source of strength, and that we may rely upon Him at all times.—J. Engert, Stuttgart, Germany.
