In your excellent editorial, entitled "Socialism in the United States," the mention of Christian Science in such a peculiar connection indicates a lack of consideration of the plain English definition or interpretation of the two words, "Christian Science." If any system of thought, philosophy, or religion can be formulated into a science, even the religion of Jesus into a Christian Science, is not this a move in the right direction? Can any thinker protest against an effort to make religion scientific, regardless of said thinker's own particular religious convictions?

The writer is not a Christian Scientist, but having had occasion to read up on the subject deplores the popular misconception of its real basis and purpose.
