Having in the past few years received so many benefits...
Having in the past few years received so many benefits through the study and application of Christian Science, I long to tell something of the help I have received, in the hope that my words may reach some one who is in need. When a young child I had a very severe illness, and when, after an almost hopeless fight, I recovered, I was left with terrible headaches, which lasted steadily for several years. As I grew older I became freer, but any and every unusual occurrence brought on a severe attack; in fact, for any reason and for no reason at all, I had a headache. In those days I was put to bed in a darkened room and kept perfectly quiet, while various remedies were taken or applied, but without the desired result.
At length I was drawn to Christian Science for quite another trouble, and in seeking help for one ill I found freedom from many. I began to read Science and Health and other Science literature, and as I read I realized that many changes were taking place, and particularly that I had fewer and fewer headaches, until I felt quite free. If ever that ailment presents itself I can always overcome it with the understanding gained by my study of Christian Science. Could any one be too thankful for such freedom, for the knowledge of God's ever-present help and His love for us; or too grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her beautiful life-work in directing us to the guidance of divine Love? I could never express in words what I feel, but I try each day to show by my life that I am thankful, and thus proving my gratitude.
