About four years ago I first heard of Christian Science...
About four years ago I first heard of Christian Science after I had sustained a serious injury to my arm through a fall. After two physicians were unable to help me and a third gave me no hope of recovery because of my advanced age, I was in a state of despair. A dear friend then told me of Christian Science and gave me some of the literature to read. I saw at once that this was the only help for me, and applied to a Christian Science practitioner in Dresden. She took up treatment, and I soon was able to use my arm again. Later on it caused me some trouble and I had to ask for treatment once more, and was then completely healed.
Two years later I had a severe attack of illness, with great difficulty in breathing, from which I used to suffer at times; but before long these troubles disappeared through treatment and I regained my normal condition. I used to be depressed greatly through cares in my work and through the loss of dear relatives, but through Christian Science I now know that there is really no loss, and although the cares come up now and then, they soon disappear. God gives His children all they need; they lack nothing. I am not separated from the dear ones who have departed: we are united in spirit, for nothing can ever separate us from the love of God.
I am grateful to God with all my heart for having shown me the way to Truth, and I am grateful for our faithful Leader, who has illumined the way to eternal life and has made it clear through her teaching. My wish is to grow more firm in the truth and that my life may bear fruit, so that I may prove my gratitude thereby.
