There
is no time in the history of Christian Science when its students do not need to bear in mind that this movement is founded upon divine Principle and not upon personality.
How
many of us have escaped the temptation to think and say that if only a certain difficulty in our outward circumstances were removed, we should get on so much better in Christian Science! Are not these the "stones" in our path which appear to make the journey hard, laborious, painful, and slow?

religious teaching has emphasized the power of God, even to the extent of what has been termed "special intervention" in the affairs of men, but it remained for the Discoverer of Christian Science to make the startling statement that there is in reality no other power than the divine, and that this power is absolutely good.
[The following resolution, which was adopted at a meeting of representatives of the branch churches in Greater New York, held April 14, is indicative of the spirit of unity and brotherliness which prevails in the New York field, and augurs well for the growth of our cause there.

In the summer of 1905 I had a very severe attack of whooping-cough, which necessitated the services of a trained nurse and three physicians, and the disease left me much reduced in flesh and very weak.
I have long wished to declare the gratitude I feel for the benefits received through Christian Science, as it has helped me very much, mentally, morally, and physically; it has given me hope, and is helping me to be less selfish.

One of the strongest attractions which Christian Science had for me when it first came under my notice, was the thought that God is a God of love, always the refuge and strength of His children.
I gladly write a brief testimony, trusting that those who read it may accept the truth without hesitancy, for it was the reading of others' testimonies that gave me courage.
When Christian Science found me I was the anxious, discouraged mother of six young children, and it is the realization of how foreign the above mental qualities are to me today that impels me to "praise God from whom all blessings flow," and to tell about it, in the hope that it may interest some other mother who seems heartsick and weary as I used to be.
Feeling it to be a privilege as well as duty to bear witness to the healing power of Truth as revealed to the world through the teachings of Christian Science, I gladly send this testimony.
Having in the past few years received so many benefits through the study and application of Christian Science, I long to tell something of the help I have received, in the hope that my words may reach some one who is in need.
