No words can be found to express my gratitude to God,...
No words can be found to express my gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the revelation of that grand truth which I have found in Christian Science, and I feel it my duty and privilege to testify of some of the many blessings which I have received and the great help I experience daily.
It is now about eight years ago that Christian Science became known in our land, but as soon as I heard about it I divined all at once that this must be the truth for which I had been looking for years, and by the study of its literature I found myself as one coming out of darkness into light. The Bible has become a new book to me, and the study of it, together with Mrs. Eddy's inspired book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," enabled me to understand its teachings, by which I can follow the "way" Jesus has pointed out, not alone to his disciples, but to every one who is ready to follow, to know God aright; that is, to know God as Love, who has nothing but good in store for all of His children, and who delivers us from sin, disease, and death. From childhood I was in delicate health, and later on there appeared a supposedly hereditary ailment, a throat affection, also continual coughs and colds. I tried every possible remedy, and had to take great care of myself, as the slightest draft gave me a bad attack. No doctor was able to cure me.
My healing in Christian Science has been slow; it took over two years, and oft I was ready to despair. My struggles were many, but I am now thankful for all this; it showed me that only when we are patient and seek God righteously does He direct our path. It is now over three years that I am healed, and I have not taken any medicine in that time. When any ailments appear they are soon destroyed by the truth. I can indeed enjoy life now, and am most happy in being able to do so much for others. My earnest desire is to gain more and more understanding, that I may prove to be a worthy follower of Truth.
