In the extract from an article on "Witchcraft" there appears the statement that "Christian Science follows exactly in the footsteps of the witch." Of all the blundering guesses as to the nature of Christian Science, this particular one happens to be more than usually unfortunate. Occultism, necromancy, mesmerism, witchcraft, or whatever other name one cares to give to the nefarious machinations of the so-called human mind, can only be believed in and submitted to by subscribing to the parent belief that there exists a multiplicity of human minds, each one powerful enough to invade and influence others.

Now the very central teaching of Christian Science insists on the existence of one Mind and one Mind only, the divine; one intelligence, comprehending good and thinking only perfect thoughts. So that the understanding of this truth makes it simply impossible for any one ever to believe in such subjects as hypnotism or occultism in any form. Mrs. Eddy has written (Science and Health, p. 469), "With one Father, even God, the whole family of man would be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good, the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth, and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which constitute divine Science."
