Some of our critics say that only ills which are purely imaginary can be healed by Christian Science methods. It is gratifying to know that this is not true. In my own case the services of a surgeon would have been required, had I not known of Christian Science, and I am sure that I escaped a term at the hospital. Eight years ago I was lame, owing to an accident which had twisted the lower part of my leg completely around. A large, hard lump appeared on the knee, but this disappeared in the healing process. While having treatment in Christian Science I walked with great difficulty, but a faithful practitioner worked for me and in six weeks I experienced complete healing. My joy was unbounded when again I was able to walk, skate, and dance as I had done before the accident.
Now, however, all material pleasures pale before the blessed privilege of learning to know God aright. There are no words in which to express my thankfulness to God for giving us this healing truth. As to Mrs. Eddy, who has labored so unselfishly in our behalf, I can only give thanks for Science and Health by striving to live a nobler, better life, knowing that God will bless the effort.
