Christian Science and psychology are as opposite as darkness...
Lawrence (Kan.) World
Christian Science and psychology are as opposite as darkness and light, nor is there any cooperation between them. The Principle of Christian Science is Spirit; its operation is divine; its teachings declare that God is infinite Mind; therefore, God being Mind, and infinite, there can be but one Mind. Christian Science recognizes no power, substance, intelligence, nor law, other than Spirit, because God, divine Mind, is All-in-all.
We agree with the professor that so-called incurable diseases have been healed—"positive cures effected"—through the application of the Christ-teaching, and this is true because it is the will of God that His sons and daughters should have perfect health. That which is reflected must necessarily be as perfect as that which it reflects; therefore God, divine Mind, being perfect, His image and likeness must be perfect; and in infinite good there is no element of discord to mar or destroy the truth of being.
An understanding of the Science of being as revealed through the teachings of Christian Science helps mankind in every way; it is that which one can take into his everyday life to meet his human needs; it is just as applicable in the transaction of business as it is in the healing of diseases or the destroying of sin. It is the application of the golden rule and the banishment of the human will. It is the knowing that the will of God, the law of good, attracts and controls, that God governs the affairs of men. To let "thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven," supplies the human need.
