THE LECTURES

Frank H. Leonard gave a lecture on Christian Science in the Grand Opera House, to a large audience, Sunday afternoon, Oct. 16. He was introduced by Judge J. L. Penry, who said in part,—

The mission of Christian Science is to call men out of material darkness into the marvelous light of the spiritual realm, demonstrating the truth of the Master's promise that a restoration of the race from sin, disease, and death should follow his teaching; thereby bringing immortality to light. Our purpose today is to discuss this most important question that is demanding the attention of the leading thinkers of this age, and the heretofore deaf ear has been turned toward the "star in the east," to catch the refrain, "Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
